Bonner County Republican Central Committee seeking candidates for Bonner County Commissioners Zones 1 and 3
Sandpoint, Idaho – The next election cycle for Bonner county commissioners for districts 1 and 3 is just months away with candidate filing beginning in February 2024 for the May 21, 2024 Republican primary election. The Bonner County Republican Central Committee last month voted No Confidence in incumbent commissioners Steve Bradshaw and Luke Omodt for recent decisions and their performance as commissioners. Unfortunately, none of their actions since then have reversed the concerns of the Bonner County Republican party.
In fact, their conduct of the commissioner’s business meetings has gotten worse. Public comment has been canceled, the public has been chastised in open meeting by chairman Bradshaw, and commissioner Bradshaw profanely harangued a member of the public following the most recent commissioner meeting.
As a result, the Bonner County Republican Central Committee is interested now in interviewing potential candidates to challenge commissioners Bradshaw and Omodt in the May 2024 primary election.
Any registered Republican who lives in Bonner County commissioner districts 1 and 3 who is interested in becoming the next Bonner County Commissioner for those districts is encouraged to immediately submit a letter of interest and contact information to the BCRCC. You can submit a letter of interest by email to chair@bonnergop.org, or call the chair of the BCRCC, Scott Herndon, at (208) 610-2680.
After receiving letters of interest, the BCRCC will send a candidate questionnaire by email to prospective candidates. Members of the BCRCC will subsequently interview prospective candidates and invite candidates to speak before the next regular meeting of the BCRCC. The meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Ponderay Events Center. All Bonner County Republicans are always welcome to attend the meetings.
