Regular Monthly Meeting June 18th, 2024
Ponderay Events Center, @ 6:30 PM

Roll Call: 28 Committeemen Present, 5 Officers, 2 Proxies. Called to order 1831 Hrs.

6. Agenda: Steve Rezac made a motion to allow LD-2 Representative Asia Williams to make a report, seconded. Motion carried. Item placed between items 7 and 8.

Grace Bauer made a motion to discuss the Snake River Plain water issue, motion seconded. Motion carried. Item placed at 11.5 on the Agenda.

Mike Nielson made a motion to hear a report from Mark Sauter re access to back country and ongoing lake level issue. Motion seconded. Motion carried. Placed between 7 and 8.

Agenda was subsequently approved.

7. Dan Vaniman moved the minutes from the reorganization meeting May 30th, 2024 be approved. Sean Morgan seconded the motion. Motion was approved.

8. BCRCC Standing Committees: Nominations and Formation

a) Bylaws Committee:

The following BCRCC Committeemen were nominated: Rick Kirschner, Dan Vaniman, Sean Morgan, Roger Rudd, Mike Fife and Dave Britton. In a secret ballot, Rick Kirschner (28 votes), Dan Vaniman (27 votes) Sean Morgan (27 votes) Roger Rudd (28 votes) and Mike Fife (27 votes) were elected to the bylaws committee. Dave Britton received 8 votes.

b.) Elections Committee:

In a voice vote Mat MacDonald, Steve Rezac, Ron Korn, Kristin Dodd and Anita Aurit were elected to comprise the Elections Committee.

c.) Fundraising Committee:

Julie Lynn, Jane Sauter, Maureen Paterson, Kim Peckham and Dan Vaniman were elected by unanimous voice vote to comprise the Fundraising Committee.

d.) Rules and Resolutions Committee:

A secret ballot was used as there were 6 nominees. The following 5 were elected: Cornel Rasor (28 votes), Steve Rezac (29 votes), Tom Cleveland (28 votes). Jane Purdy (27 votes), Nathan Thomas (27 votes). Tom Bokowy received 9 votes.

e.) Search Committee:

The following were nominated: Doug Paterson, Sean Morgan, and Rick Kirschner. Unanimous consent was called with a voice vote, voice vote was unanimous.

Secret Ballots were tabulated by Robert Franck and Maureen Paterson

9. Cornel Rasor made a motion to form a non-standing committee to explore the formation of a Community Outreach Committee. The motion was seconded. Motion Carried. Julie Lynn, Kristin Dodd, Lana Santelli, Victoria Quinn, Nathan Thomas, Annette Thompson and Hannah Herndon volunteered to staff the committee. This was approved through unanimous consent.

11. Report of the Chair: Scott Herndon. In depth discussion of rules governing the Republican Party.

11.5 Snake Valley Basin water rights were discussed.

13. Convention Discussion: Dennis Engelhardt reported on the very successful Republican Party in convention in Coeur d’Aline.

14.Kristin Dodd made a motion to set up a Republican Party table in downtown Sandpoint for the July 4th, 2024 parade. Jane Purdy seconded the motion. Kristin Dodd made a motion to amend the motion to include a $45 entry fee for a float in the parade, and for up to $250 for incidentals related to a table at City Beach. Doug Paterson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
